The Opolis is moving beyond just being a music venue and incorporating the talents and skills of its working members to build a network of services that supports the ecosystem of the people who make downtown Norman an established music destination in Oklahoma. The space now provides a variety of services by its working members that can assist in furthering a musician’s creative practice whether through use of the stage as a rehearsal space, recording in our house studio with our experienced sound engineers, music lessons for those just starting out, and options for vegan whole sale and catering! You will find a variety of services in the profiles below that you can review to work with one of our talented members.

Sarah Reid

Sarah is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. She holds a Bachelors in Music in Violin Performance from the University of Oklahoma. Sarah has played in numerous local bands, including Mariachi Orgullo De America, Kierston White Trio, Moriah Bailey, Magnificent Bird, and writes and performs as a solo artist and noise/experimental musician. She has several years of live sound engineer experience, and has run sound for hundreds of bands in the local scene. Sarah is offering beginner lessons in violin, guitar, bass, and music theory. She also offers studio recording as an engineer for singer-songwriters and string session work.

Eli Wimmer

Eli is the frontman of the psychadelic rock band Helen Kelter Skelter and works with the Norman Music Institute providing lessons to students throughout the week. You can apply to take music lessons from Eli at the Opolis at the link below.

Laine Bergeron

A born and raised Normanite, Laine has been in several experiemental bands and projects over the years. He is a sound engineer and song writer with a special talent for bringing out the best in the people that record with him.
