Alisha King - Guitar and Vocals

Mackenzie McCombs - Bass

Adesley Rios - Vocals

How can people find you?

Instagram - Spotify - TikTok

What do you like about making music and what has your experience been playing live?

Adesley: From the first time I got on stage, I was so enamored with the simplicity of experiencing and sharing this love for sound with anyone who had the time. I’ve gotten to connect with so many artists and it’s hard to not be influenced by them. I love playing live and seeing more of the same people regularly, it’s all I could ask for!

Can you share the story behind the formation of your band?

The pandemic brought us together, we weren't able to do a lot so we started getting together and writing stuff.

How long have you all played together?

Alisha, Mackenzie and Adesley have been bandmates since 2020. We collaborated with a few people and were a plethora of different band names before finding Aidan and Arion in 2022 and with that, Liquid Girlfriend

What influences have played significant roles in shaping your sound?

This one is hard because we are all so wildly different, we’re all over the place! Most of us are huge suckers for the god that is Paramore, but we take a lot of influence from every genre and aim to make what we like and whatever makes us feel the most. As well as, something for everybody.

How does the music writing process work for your band? Who writes what? How do you produce?

When we first started we got a lot of help from one of our close friends, they knew more about structuring songs and helped bring our ideas to life. Up to this point Alisha and Adesley bring snippets of projects or entire songs to the band and we work on them together and jam as we go. Everyone puts their personality in it and we make changes as a band as we see fit.

What are you listening to lately?

Currently obsessing over Sweet Pill, thanks to a recommendation from a close friend. Also a big fan of Pool Kids! We’ll always support Paramore, and our local scene is constantly pushing our standards and inspiring us.

Who is your current favorite Oklahoma act right now?

Adesley: I will always be all about SUNFO, if I had any I’d put all of my money on them. We have also gotten to share the stage with acts that have gifted me with a resurgence of love and inspiration for music and the scene that I am apart of. Ira Usagi, Smokey Motel, Limp Wizurdz, Cowboy Jr., Gonzo Labronzo and so many more.

What do you see happening in the Norman and OKC music scenes? Where do you see it going?

I believe in the culture of the metro in Oklahoma in general. We’re known as one of the kindest states but I know the emerging scene and artists have a lot to say. The talent we reign and every local artist I’ve gotten to meet, I just know it’s going to be more than I could’ve expected and it’s going to change a lot for our state.

Can you share your first impression of the Opolis or an experience you had here that you would like to share?

Alisha: The first time I came to Opolis I watched Peelander Z tear up the stage and I knew after that I would love it. I've been to too many shows to count at the Opolis and it's so cool being able to be on the other side of that.

Is there anything you want people to know about supporting musicians?

Showing up and bringing energy means so much to local artists. It's so fun meeting new people and hearing what they like most about something we've created and on the other side, what we could do better. The world is changing and we’re prepared to do everything to continue growing and improving.
